A motorcyclist who was stopped by police had been smoking cannabis beforehand, Inverness Sheriff Court heard.

Fiscal depute Naomi Duffy-Welsh told Sheriff Gary Aitken that officers had cause to check 30-year-old Kevin Macrae, of Glengarry Road, Inverness on nearby General Booth Road on February 4, 2023.

She said: "It was noted that he was under the influence of a substance and a drug swipe proved positive and he was arrested."

Macrae admitted possession of 0.5grams of the Class B drug and having 3.7mcgs of it in his system. The legal driving limit is 2mcgs.

Macrae was fined £520 and banned from driving for a year.
