An Inverness wine bar is praising its local suppliers for helping it be named as a local gem in The Good Food Guide 2023.

The Walrus & Corkscrew, based on Church Street was named amongst some of the best establishments in the UK after an incognito representative reviewed its offerings of drinks and cured meat and cheese platters.

The news of the accolade came as a shock to the owners Rob and Sarah Steadman, who are passionate about supporting Highland producers.

Speaking about receiving a top spot in the guide, Mr Steadman said: “The Good Food Guide isn’t something you can apply for, so it’s nice to have been put forward for it and being nominated is a great accolade.

“It is a great reflection on the local suppliers that we have here, and the quality of the food that we can source locally. We are very passionate about that and making sure that we support the incredible producers we have here.
