Inverness band Raining Stairs’ first official release for 34 years hits Soundcloud

Fans of 80s and 90s Inverness band Raining Stairs are set for a big treat - after their lead singer released the group's first official release in 34 years!

The band's brand new EP, Sweet Satan, is available free to download on Soundcloud.

It marks the band's first official release since 1990 and contains two unreleased studio recordings and one home demo from the archive.

Lead singer David Ross, who recently began going back through the band's old recordings to remaster the works, said he was delighted to see more of Raining Stairs' material see the light of day, adding: "I think the material is strong and well recorded."

And the new EP is not the last fans wil be hearing of the band's material. David explained: "Future releases will include live recordings from the late 80s / early 90s, more archive studio/home recordings."

He is also planning to release more recently written material he recorded on his own without the other original band members.

He added: "[There'll] maybe even [be] a couple of songs recently recorded with Indian classical musicians in Goa - a massive departure in style."
