Invergordon Academy temporarily closed and road access restricted after unexploded ordnance found

Police have advised that Invergordon Academy has been temporarily closed and access to portions of road have been temporarily restricted following the discovery of an unexploded ordnance at Castle Avenue in Invergordon.

A police statement issued at 6.37am advised that a stretch of road between junctions at Gordon Terrace and Academy Road has been closed. Davidson Drive is also shut, with no vehicular or pedestrian traffic permitted.

Members of the public are requested to stay away from the area in the meantime.

A Police Scotland spokesperson said : “Emergency services are in attendance at Castle Terrace, Invergordon after an unexploded ordnance was found. A cordon has been put in place and EOD have been contacted.”
