One person was injured and removed by ambulance to Raigmore Hospital for treatment after a two vehicle crash on the A96 near Inverness Airport this morning.

The crash at Drumine on the main Inverness to Nairn road occurred about 11am and involved a white Nissan van and a trailer being pulled by a tractor.

Five fire units attended the incident, and helped make the area safe.

Police want to hear from anyone with information on the incident. They should call 101, quoting incident 0979 of October 4, 2022.

A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “Around 11am police were called to the A96 between Dalcross and Nairn, following a report of a two-vehicle crash, involving a white Nissan van and a trailer which was being drawn by a JCB tractor.

"One person was taken to Raigmore Hospital for treatment and the road was cleared around 3.30pm."

Traffic was diverted through Croy after the collision and there were delays as a result with motorists advised to allow extra time for their journey.

The Scottish Fire and Rescue Service sent five appliances to the scene including the Inverness based heavy rescue unit.

The other units involved were from Inverness, Nairn, Dingwall and Forres.

A fire service spokeswoman said they were involved in making the area safe and assisting the police, and there was no fire.
