MORE than 500 gin lovers turned out for a festival devoted to their favourite tipple over the weekend.
GINverness took place at Inverness Ice Centre on Saturday as a fundraiser for the venue as it faces ever increasing energy costs.
There were 20 gin distilleries present on the day, with live music and food also available for guests.
The event was split into two sessions, afternoon and evening, and was hailed a great success by organisers.
Ice centre chief executive Gordon Barron said: “There was no one without a smile on the day. We’ve had tremendous feedback, as everyone enjoyed the music, gin and food and were able to sit outside too.
“People couldn’t believe the Ice Centre could look so good.
“The distillers there said it was one of the best events they have been to due to the space they had.”
He added: “As a fundraiser it went really well for the ice centre.
“We now look forward to hosting Whisky Over Ice on August 27 and Chiller in the Thriller on September 3. Get your tickets!”
