Scottish Highlands & Islands and Moray Chinese Association (SHIMCA) hosted its Chinese New Year celebrations, last night.

Starting at the bottom of Market Brae Steps, the Lion dance was performed, which was then carried on down throughout the High Street.

Red envelopes with a chocolate golden coin were passed around to the crowds to symbolise a gesture of good luck for the year ahead.

Children who are members of SHIMCA then performed a song outside the Town House, with the deputy consulate of China in attendance.

Ticket holders were then welcomed into the Town House for a piano recital, songs and a buffet.
