HUNDREDS of retail and hospitality businesses from across the Highlands and wider country flocked to Inverness for a major trade showcase.

Around 250 businesses – or nearly 500 people – travelled to the Kingsmills Hotel for Williamson Foodservice’s biggest ever showcase event.

In all around 65 different suppliers were on hand to highlight their wares to the visiting business representatives – with firms from Inverness-shire, Ross-shire, Moray, Sutherland and Caithness all involved.

They exhibited their goods, provided samples/tastings and explained how to get the best value and profit from their products.

Williamson Foodservice employs more than 100 people at its Inverness, Stornoway and Glasgow locations. It also operates a fleet of 40 refrigerated vans and lorries.

Simon Stewart, marketing manager at Williamson, said the event had attracted people from across the UK who “see us in the Highlands as an attractive market”.
