A POP-UP play area inspired children from around the Highlands at Falcon Square in Inverness.

Play Highland, the Highland Play Improvement Group, welcomed all to get involved in the free event.

A spokeswoman for the organisers said: “By using basic items that are found in everyday life and not traditionally associated with playgrounds, the event brought creative, social and cognitive play opportunities for kids of all ages.”

The open space beside the entrance to the Eastgate Shopping Centre was transformed into a multi-area play zone on Saturday and was the second event of its kind, following another pop-up play event that took place in nearby Church Street in 2017.

Parents and carers got stuck in with all the activities and positive feedback then stimulated planning for this follow-up event.
