A LOVEABLE labrador cross has a new home – partly thanks to the Inverness Courier.

The Courier highlighted Flash had been the longest resident at the Scottish SPCA Rescue Centre in Inshes, with readers playing their part by extensively sharing his plight on social media.

And now, after more than 400 days in the care of the charity, a new owner came forward when it staged its Highlands and Islands Fun Day at Inverness Campus – also publicised in articles about Flash – to mark the beginning of the Scottish SPCA’s Rehoming Week.

Centre manager Elaine Floyd said: “We are very happy with the fun day and we are delighted to have rehomed Flash, who had been with us for 409 days – as well as a number of other animals in our care.

“We are so pleased these animals have now gone to their forever homes.

“On the day, the weather was on our side and our bouncy castle was full of laughter, as were the aeroplane and tea cup rides.

“We had some independent traders offering special pet equipment and an ice cream van that kept everyone refreshed.

“We would like to thank the volunteers who gave up their time to help out and to everyone who came along on the day to make it a success.”

Although she said staff would miss Flash, she added there was nothing more they wanted than to see him find a new home to give him a new life.
