SOME of the region’s top bodybuilders muscled in on the prizes when a bodybuilding contest was held in Inverness.

Hometown winners were Jack Gunn, who walked off with the Mr Highland title, and Louise Cooper, who won the Miss Toned category.

Mr Gunn was also runner-up in the under-24s category.

Inverness’s Jason Hastings was runner-up in the Men’s Fitness section at the annual event, which attracted a total of 31 competitors.

Glasgow-based Rudi Szczerbal won the men’s overall title while Elgin’s Katherine Keddie took home the women’s overall accolade, as well as the Miss Bikini and Miss Highlands gongs.

The IBFA (International Bodybuilding and Fitness Association) Highlands and Islands Bodybuilding Championship at the Ironworks was organised by Inverness’s Forge Gym.

Show promoter Gavin Laird, who runs the Forge, said: “I was extremely happy with the incredible standard of the athletes we had competing on the day.

“They all looked fantastic and it was great to see so many local competitors on the stage in our fifth year of running the contest.

“Bodybuilding is going from strength to strength in the Highlands and Forge Gym is proud to be providing a stage for people to compete and qualify for the IBFA British Championships.”
