Two housing officers visiting a tenant were frightened when a man appeared at the front door, wielding a sledgehammer and banging on it.

Inverness Sheriff Court heard that it lasted 20 minutes before police were called to the property at Balloan Road on July 28, 2022 to take statements.

Fiscal depute Emily Hood told Sheriff Sara Matheson officers searched for a vehicle, they had been told that two men had left in and arrested 43-year-old Leslie Goodall, of Millburn Road, Inverness.

They also arrested the 45-year-old driver Kevin Macdonald, of Oldtown Road, Inverness.

"Given his demeanour and presentation, Macdonald was searched under the Misuse of Drugs Act and two wraps of cocaine, both containing small amounts, were found," she said.

Macdonald admitted possession of the Class A drug and was fined £470.

Goodall pleaded guilty to behaving in a threatening or abusive manner and possession of an offensive weapon and had sentence deferred until March 21 for a background report.
