Job opportunities in hospitality sector in the Inverness Big Hospitality Recruitment Drive at Inverness Town House organised by Highland Hotels Association and partners

Jobseekers hoping to work in the hospitality sector were able to see what opportunities are on offer at an event at Inverness Town House.

The Inverness Big Hospitality Recruitment Drive was organised by Highland Hotels Association in partnership with Developing the Young Workforce, Skills Development Scotland, Highlands & Islands Enterprise, Department of Work & Pensions and Highland Council.

It was the biggest ever recruitment drive with positions available across several hotels in Inverness on Tuesday.

It highlighted all the exciting range of opportunities on offer in the Inverness hospitality industry and there were more than 100 jobs available to suit people from all walks of life from full-time, part-time, seasonal work, holiday jobs and flexible work to fit around people’s circumstances and availability.

Emmanuel Moine, chairman of the association said: "We wanted to dispel some of the old fashioned and long held myths about working in the hospitality industry. The core messages we want to get across are that it’s fun and exciting to work in hospitality, it opens up a world of opportunity and we are looking for people from all walks of life."

Eilidh Edgar, programmes manager at DYW Inverness and Central Highlands said: “We are proud to be supporting this campaign along with other partners as we wanted to highlight the fantastic range of opportunities on offer for young people.

"Working in hospitality gives you so many transferable skills from teamwork, resilience, multi-tasking, diplomacy, customer service and many more. There are also apprenticeship opportunities on offer leading to a well-paid and rewarding career as well as seasonal work and holiday jobs for school and college pupils."
