Zechariah Rawluk (49) admitted spitting on and punching a prison officer at HMP Inverness.

He also pleaded guilty to a separate charge of defacing the covering of a boarded up window in Inverness High Street by writing graffiti on it.

However he then found himself removed from the dock and taken to the cells at Inverness Sheriff Court on Wednesday.

That came after he refused to listen to what was being said during the course of his hearing and shouted as Sheriff Robert McDonald tried to pass sentence.

Later returning to the court room he was sentenced to 88 days imprisonment backdated to August 21 to take account of time already spent on remand.

Rawluk, who the court heard suffered from mental health difficulties, admitted wilfully damaging the boarded up window on August 9.

He pleaded guilty to committing the assault in the prison on May 27 this year.
