Prisoners in Inverness will be served up a £3 Christmas dinner including chicken Balmoral this year.
The Inverness Courier can reveal the full day menu for those serving time at HMP Porterfield on the festive day thanks to a freedom of information request.
Those inside will start the day with a fairly traditional breakfast consisting of cereal and milk or pan of chocolait.
Brunch consists of sausage bacon egg, beans, and a hash brown with a roll.
Dinner consists of chicken Balmoral with roast potatoes, carrots, Brussels sprouts and a Yorkshire pudding.
Vegetarians will be offered alternatives including a vegetarian Wellington and alternative meat-free products.
Finally a Christmas pudding will be served with cream to finish off the festive feast.
A selection box will also be offered to prisoners.
The average cost of the meals per prisoner, per day over the three day period of Christmas Day, Boxing Day and New Year’s Day is £2.83.
