MEMBERS of the Highland Youth Parliament have had the chance to shadow senior managers across public sector services.

It marked the group’s annual apprentice day which aims to allow services to be more aware of young peoples’ views.

A total of 16 young people from across shadowed representatives from High Life Highland, Highland Council, NHS Highland, Police Scotland, Fire and Rescue Service, the University of the Highlands and Islands and HM Prison Service.

Highland youth convener Esme Leitch said: “It is a unique opportunity for both the young people and the officials they are shadowing to learn from one another, and gain new insights.”

It was organised by High Life Highland’s youth services team.
