A Highland Council spokeswoman said: "Unfortunately due to ongoing vandalism, yhe Highland Council has had to close the Muir of Ord public toilets with immediate effect.
"The council is very disappointed with the way in which the facility continues to be treated, despite recent investment.
"As has occurred at other sites where ongoing vandalism is an ongoing issue, the council has instructed an immediate closure.
"These facilities will not reopen for at least the next month to see if things settle down.
"The council cannot carry on repairing them until officers are satisfied that the daily threat of vandalism is reduced."
The local authority says the issue has been reported to the police.
