Lochardil Primary and Early Learning Centre in Inverness will remain closed tomorrow, Tuesday, due to an outbreak of Covid and a rising number of cases
PUPILS at a Highland Primary School have been told to stay at home today and tomorrow, after a high number of Covid cases in the school.
Lochardil Primary School and Early Learning Centre in Inverness has been closed, and parents and carers asked to keep children at home until at least Wednesday.
Earlier today we were told parents believed just one class, primary six, had been put into isolation after school bosses wrote to parents at 9pm yesterday, Sunday, but earlier this morning staff said the whole school and ELC was now closed.
Head teacher Audrey Kellacher, wrote to parents at 8.30am this morning, she said: "School closed to ALL today Monday November 8.
She continued: "Unfortunately school is closed to everyone today due to rising positive Covid-19 case numbers and staff shortages associated with such.
"We will update you throughout the day on the evolving situation.
"I am so sorry for such short notice and any inconvenience caused.
"The children can continue to engage with their learning through their Google classrooms during this time and we will provide further information later today regarding our plans for the rest of this week.
"Thank you as always for your ongoing understanding and support during such challenging times."
It has now been confirmed to parents that school will remain closed on Tuesday.
