Police took a man who had been drinking to hospital after arresting him for causing a disturbance outside his home because they were concerned about his level of intoxication.

Officers were called to a property in Knocknagael on the evening of July 2, 2023 and found 59-year-old Campbell Freeman outside.

Fiscal depute Karen Poke told Inverness Sheriff Court that Freeman had fallen out with his partner and had been threatening "to harm someone".

"He was asked to go inside but was still aggressive and said he was going to get a baseball bat. He was told to desist but didn't and was arrested.

"However he was taken to Raigmore Hospital first due to the level of intoxication."

Freeman was ordered to carry out 135 hours of unpaid work.
