Missing person TV series fronted by Dan Walker to throw national spotlight on case of Highland man Finn Creaney (33) last seen a year ago this week

THE case of a Highland man posted missing almost exactly one year ago is to be highlighted in a new Channel 5 TV show.
It's hoped the high-profile show will help shed further light on cases that have baffled agencies involved in searches and left anguished families searching for answers.
Finn Creaney, from the Tain area, was last seen around 2.15pm on Friday, March 25 last year at Altnaharra in Sutherland near Loch Naver.
The 33-year-old married father-of-one, who has extensive bushcraft knowledge, was described by loved ones at the time as being the happiest he has ever been and his disappearance a complete mystery.
Finn's wife Lucy revealed over the weekend that his case is set to be featured on a new Channel 5 series presented by Dan Walker.
Vanished: The Hunt for Britain's Missing People starts on Thursday, March 30.

Programme makers say: "Every 90 seconds someone is reported missing in the UK. Most are found within hours, many are located in a matter of days... but there are some who seem to disappear, often with little or no trace. And there are more than 5000 people _ a third of them children _ who have been missing for over a year.
"This new, live, weekly series focusses on people who've gone missing across the UK – some cases well known, others not; each one with a unique set of causes, consequences and circumstances."
Dan Walker said: “The tragic case of Nicola Bulley highlighted the desperate situation that the families of missing persons find themselves in. It also showed us the importance of responsible journalism and brought into focus the role the public can play during a live investigation. We want Vanished to assist the police and also support the families and loved ones of some of the thousands of people who go missing every year.”
Daniel Pearl, commissioning editor, Unscripted, Paramount+ , Channel 5 said: “This is an important and urgent series that we hope will shine a light on the less well-publicised cases – as well as those more well-known – in an attempt to raise national awareness and uncover useful evidence. It is clearly a sensitive and emotional subject, and ITN Productions will work closely with the families, friends and the primary organisations (including relevant police forces and charities) involved in missing persons cases.”
Lucy Creaney posted: "We have been busy pushing on with the search including getting drone pictures to go over the land in a different way. But also I did an interview for Channel 5 New Show Vanished: The Hunt for Britain's Missing People hosted by Dan Walker."
She admitted: "This is way out my comfort zone but I will do anything to get Finn home! It's nearly an entire year without that amazing soul in our life!!"
The series is due to start on March 30 at 9pm.
