Highland Hospice is preparing to host its first ever charity regatta as part of an “exciting” new partnership with Inverness Rowing Club.

The charity hopes that the regatta, which is to be held on the Caledonian Canal on Saturday, September 21, will prove to be a “fun and exciting way” to raise vital funds.

The charity is now inviting teams of four to enter and go up against each other.

Highland Hospice’s corporate fundraiser Karen Duff said, “We are so excited to launch this fabulous event which offers groups of friends, colleagues, sports teams or family to give rowing a go.

“To take part, teams are required to supply four novice rowers and the coxswain in your boat will be supplied by Inverness Rowing Club.

“Teams will be provided with four weeks of training sessions leading up to the Regatta.”

She added, “We will even have a barbecue and refreshments available at the Rowing Club, so you can encourage friends and family to come along and make a day of it!”
