THE Highland Hospice shop in Inverness’s Falcon Square has been recognised for the quality of its offering in a national retail competition.

The boutique store was awarded the WOW! Factor Best Shop Interior prize from the Charity Retail Association.

The shop is one of the newest Highland Hospice retail outlets, opened in May last year, and has been a popular draw for many city centre shoppers from day one despite the challenges of lockdown.

The interior is a blend of neon signs, eclectic posters and props where customers can buy a range of items from wedding dresses to bric-a-brac.

The hospice’s head of fundraising and retail, Andrew Leaver, was overjoyed with the award.

“We are delighted that the hard work and creativity from our team in the new Falcon Square shop has been recognised by this national award,” her said.

“We have always been proud of the unique and inviting shopping environment we created, but it is enormously heartening to have this recognised by the charity shop managers and staff from across the whole of the UK who picked out our store as having the best interior.”

Hannah Beresford, shop manager, said: “The displays and layouts are a team effort and our fantastic volunteers contribute a lot to the running of the whole shop.”
