Inverness ghost hunters are searching for a new recruit.

The Highland Paranormal group are seeking a volunteer investigator to help aid its investigations into paranormal activity.

The organisation, which has been running since 2010, regularly holds events such as ghost walks as well as taking on private cases and efforts to dispel mysterious goings on.

Co-founder Liam Shand (48) is recruiting for the new role, with a passion for the unexplained one of the key priorities for the position.

Previous experience of the occult would also help any potential ghostbuster stand out from the crowd, but event management, social media and website skills would also come in handy to allow the group to continue to flourish, Mr Shand said.

Full training will also be given to anyone who signs up for the chilling challenge.

Mr Shand said: “The key thing we’re looking for is someone with a real passion for it.

“We’ve had cases from all over the north-east of Scotland. Some are exploring or dispelling publicly known myths and others are private cases in order to help people sleep better at night.

“We’re really lucky in that we have a real treasure trove right on our doorstep.”

The group is currently the only one in Scotland associated with The Atlantic Paranormal Society (TAPS) which was the subject of popular US TV programme Ghost Hunters.

Investigations last year took the group across the Highlands including to the Black Isle.

Applications can be made at highland.paranormal@gmail.com with the closing date this Monday.
