Highland Council has announced road closures.

Motorists are being advised by Highland Council that there will be two part-day road closures of the B851 next week.

It affects Farr Playpark, Strathnairn – south of Inverness – on Tuesday (December 13) and Wednesday (December 14) between 09.30am and 3.30pm each day.

The two part-day road closures are required to carry out essential carriageway resurfacing works and to ensure safe working practices.

A council spokesman said: "A local diversion for light vehicles only will be in place using the Brin – Dunlichity – Balnafoich Road, during these times. This route is unsuitable for HGV’s which will be signed and routed separately via the main B-road network.

"Advance notification signs advising the public of this closure will be erected this week at the site and at remote junctions, giving advance notice of the works.

"Emergency vehicle access will be maintained and pedestrians and cyclists will also be managed through the works via the new shared-use path under the supervision of the contractor.

"Bus services will be managed through the closure on the Tuesday but will be diverted via the local diversion (with a smaller vehicle) on the Wednesday during the closure times to avoid damage to the new surfacing material."

Highland Council apologises for any inconvenience.
