Highland Council’s climate change team is urging people to take part in a survey about their experience and knowledge of electric vehicles and associated charging technology.

Results of the online survey – which closes tomorrow – will help inform feasibility studies that Transport Scotland has paid Energy Saving Trust to deliver for several Scottish local authorities.

The programme supports the Scottish Government’s ambitions to create 20 electric towns and cities by 2025 and supports Highland Council’s climate emergency declaration.

The study will provide a report that includes detailed insights and information on a range of topics, including recommendations for publicly accessible charge points. Additionally, the study will highlight complementary measures for incentivising and enabling people to participate in low-carbon transport options.

Councillor Trish Robertson, chairwoman of the council's climate change working group, said: “Highland Council needs your views and all it will take is 10 minutes of your time to complete the survey. The conclusions derived from the survey results will offer ideas for targeted future action required to accelerate the uptake of electric vehicles in the Highland area.

“We thank you in anticipation of your help and together we will drive Highland towards an electric future.”
