Highland Disabled Ramblers has just celebrated its 20th anniversary but faces an uncertain future for its mission to make the Highlands more accessible.

The group uses a fleet of electric mobility scooters to get disabled and elderly people outside to enjoy rambles around the region.

Each ramble starts with volunteer drivers collecting hire vans, driving to the storage site, loading the scooters and transporting them to the starting point of the ramble – but more bodies are needed to help out.

“Our driving team are the backbone of the organisation,” the group’s chairman Martin Rodgers said. “Without them, we’re going nowhere! We’re desperate to recruit new drivers.”
