Award-winning Inverness business Highland Campervans celebrates 15th anniversary
Highland Campervans has come a long way since Catherine Bunn launched the motorhome sales and hire company 15 years ago.
Spurred on by her vision of creating amazing memories for her customers, she has witnessed the company grow into an award-winning, popular, and well-known local business.
The popularity of UK holidays in recent years has helped fuel this growth and has led to a rise in motorhome sales and rentals across the UK.
Scotland has seen a boom in this industry with the promotion of multiple driving routes, which are appealing not only to overseas visitors but also those restricted to holidaying more locally during the pandemic.
Catherine said: “It’s amazing to look how far we’ve come in 15 years.
“We started with a desk in the corner of the lounge and a book on how to build a website. Now we have a team of 19 staff and a thriving motorhome dealership. I’m very proud of the business that we have built but I’m also excited by the plans and ideas we have for continued growth. There is still a lot we would like to achieve and the fantastic team we have share that vision”.
"Van life", the adventurous way-of-life promoted by many motorhome enthusiasts, is now a popular trend during a time when the experience of Covid-induced lockdowns has radically altered the way Brits approach their holiday planning.
Highland Campervans sells and hires a wide range of leisure vehicles especially suited to Highlands and Islands roads.
Its base at Kerrowaird Steading, just off the A96 near Tornagrain to the east of Inverness, is the only National Caravan Council Approved Fixed Workshop for motorhomes in the Highlands.
Highland Campervans is also a leading member of the CaMPA trade association, promoting responsible motorhome tourism and also lobbying for improved facilities for motorhome visitors and helping to create a sustainable future for the motorhome industry.
The company plans on celebrating its birthday year with a variety of customer events and communications throughout 2022.
