Highland Boxing Academy is on a mission to raise funds for a new minibus by climbing Ben Nevis.

The club has been without a minibus since last year, which is vital for getting to competitions across the country. In an effort to raise the funds needed, between 20 to 30 members will climb to the summit of Ben Nevis on Saturday, July 13. Younger members of the club will go halfway up.

Liam Foy, head boxing coach said: “Last year, our trusty minibus, which has been our lifeline for years, sadly burnt out on the road.

“Despite the insurance coverage, it's not enough to cover the cost of a new bus due to its age.

“Our club, nestled in Inverness, Scotland, thrives on the energy and dedication of our members who train tirelessly for competitions, events, and vital training sessions.

“The minibus isn't just a mode of transport; it's our gateway to opportunities, enabling us to travel the country every weekend. Without it, the very essence of our club is at risk.

“At the moment we have been using coaches and parents vehicles but for a club our size we need the minibus.

“That's why we're embarking on an ambitious endeavour – climbing Ben Nevis – to raise funds for a new minibus.

“We're asking for your support to help us continue our journey, both literally and figuratively. Every contribution, big or small, will make a tremendous difference to our club and the passionate individuals within it.”
