Highland musicians Blazin' Fiddles may have had a year without live gigs - but they have managed to secure one of the top spots of the year.

Front man Bruce MacGregor said the band, now in its third decade, would be headlining at BBC Scotland's Hogmanay show.

Blazing Fiddles will star alongside Deacon Blue and Amy MacDonald for the live show.

In a message to fans, he said: "It’s been a hard year for us all but today I got some news that certainly lifted the soul!

"Our first gig since March 1st in Johnstone Town hall, is at the BBC with Deacon Blue and Amy MacDonald...no pressure at all!

"Also delighted to be playing for Celtic Connections with the band.

"That will go out on their series of gigs online and there’s some great concerts to buy into."

He continued: "The Blazers enter their third decade and I think it might be full throttle from now on."

In a post on Blazin' Fiddles Facebook page it said: "What a way to round off 2020."
