Wasps’ Winter Market will return to Inverness Creative Academy this weekend – Saturday, November 26, and Sunday, November 27.

The Highlands’ first major creative hub plays host to its annual Winter Market and will feature stalls selling some of the best locally created arts and crafts the region has to offer.

Wasps Winter Market is open both days, from 10am to 4pm, and will boast a mix of stalls offering everything from ceramics, jewellery and textiles, greetings cards and original works of art.

Last winter Wasps Winter Market in Inverness attracted nearly 2000 visitors and more are expected to visit the growing, free-to-attend event this year.

Vendors at the weekend Winter Market include Inverness Creative Academy tenants and artists Izzy Thomson, Alice Prentice, Carine Moffat and Gael Hillyard, as well as jeweller and silversmith Geddes Designs, Nathan Lumb from Highland Woodwork, Mi Designs from Moray, Plants etc. and Kevin Arrowsmith Photography.

Wasps chief executive Audrey Carlin: “Since we’ve been hosting the Winter Market at Inverness Creative Academy the event gets more popular and in our fourth year we’re expecting our biggest turnout yet.

"We’d like to encourage people to consider supporting their local artists and artisans by coming along. It’s a great platform for the artist community to engage with potential customers and showcase their talents. It’s also a great place to pick up something unique for that special gift.”

Wasps will shortly be considering applications for its Summer Market at Inverness Creative Academy. For more information potential vendors are asked to email Projects@waspsstudios.org.uk.
