High Life Highland to close all facilities on day of Queen's funeral

The organisation runs libraries, archive centres and leisure facilities across the region.

The announcement by High Life Highland this evening follows on from news that all schools will be closed on the day while many council staff in other departments will also have the day off.

Many businesses will also be closed on Monday.

Chairman of High Life Highland’s board, Mark Tate said: “Following the announcement made by Buckingham Palace that the funeral of Her Majesty The Queen will take place on Monday 19th September, the Board and Management believe it would be appropriate to close all High Life Highland buildings to allow our staff the opportunity to pay their respects.”

All High Life Highland locations will resume normal opening hours on Tuesday 20th September 2022.
