A new corporate deal between a Highland bus operator and leisure centres in the region aims to support employees' health and wellness.

High Life Highland and Stagecoach Highland have announced a new partnership which will give staff the chance to access the charity leisure centres across the region.

Fully funded High Life memberships for their employees and family members, which will give them access to a range of services such as swimming pools, climbing walls and fitness facilities in 25 leisure centres throughout the Highlands.

The new benefit comes as the bus operator has been suffering from recruiting issues which ave had a knock-on impact on their services over the past year.

The new deal seeks to support employees' wellbeing during the cost-of-living crisis.

Emma Thomson, High Life Highland’s highlife development officer, said: “We are absolutely delighted to have another high-profile Highland business signed up to our corporate membership deal.

“High Life Highland is excited to be partnering with Stagecoach to support the health and wellbeing of the travel operator’s staff and their families by giving them access to the many leisure facilities, and hundreds of activities taking place every week across the Highlands.

Se added: “Stagecoach is the most recent in a growing number of Highland businesses I am working with to set-up discounted access for their staff.

“Staff health and wellbeing is becoming one of the highest priorities for responsible employers and I’d be more than happy to have discussions about how High Life Highland can support businesses to, in turn, support their staff.”

Speaking on behalf of Stagecoach North Scotland, David Simpson, engineering director, shared: "We are delighted to be able to offer such a fantastic benefit for our team in the Highlands.

“The wellbeing of our staff is of the utmost importance, which is why we employ an amazing group of people and are constantly looking at ways to support their wellbeing and reward them for their hard work.

“The Highlife membership is ideal, as during a cost-of-living crisis no one should have to give up the things that help their wellbeing and keep them active and healthy.

“With there being so many facilities over the whole of the Highlands, we are able to offer all of our staff from Aviemore to Orkney, and as far as Skye, the chance to sign up.”
