A High Court trial was held up for a day because a juror was unavailable "due to personal circumstances".

Lord Stuart told the remaining 14 jurors, who had been waiting all morning at Inverness Justice Centre for evidence, that the juror had been in contact and explained her reason to them briefly.

He added that she had confirmed that she would be attending tomorrow morning.

The trial of 52-year-old Inverurie man John O'Donnell, who denies causing death by dangerous driving, was adjourned until 10am tomorrow.

It had been expected to end this week.

O'Donnell has admitted that he was driving his flat-bed with a crane fitted on October 25, 2019 and that a stabiliser beam and leg had struck 26-year-old Inverness nursery teacher Chloe Morrison.

She was thrown 100ft in front of the vehicle, which ran over her leg. She died of multiple fractures to her head and body.
