Protecting the places you treasure most for future generations
Since 1931, the Trust has pioneered public access to the places in its care that make Scotland so special – from ancient houses and castles, battlefields and mills to gardens, coastlines, islands, mountain ranges and the plants and wildlife which depend upon them. These places hold special memories for so many – of adventures, exploring, holidays, learning and discovering.
In March 2022 the National Trust for Scotland launched its new ten-year strategy ‘Nature, Beauty & Heritage for Everyone’, which sets out the ambitions of the charity as it approaches its centenary in 2031. At the heart of this strategy is the Trust’s core mission – to continue conserving, protecting and sharing Scotland’s rich heritage for all to access and enjoy.
There’s a meaningful way that you can help
The cost of caring for the places and spaces in the Trust’s care is only increasing and the charity is reliant on the generosity of those that choose to support its work. As well as supporting through membership or donations, you can also support by including a gift in your Will.
Today, gifts in Wills account for 10p of every £1 that the Trust spends on protecting the places in its care. Simply put, without donations, memberships, and gifts in Wills, the charity’s vital conservation work would not be possible. Gifts in Wills help to fund the work of the Trust’s rangers, conservators, gardeners, archaeologists and wildlife experts who work hard every day to protect and share the places, wildlife and objects in their care.
By including a gift to the National Trust for Scotland in your Will, after taking care of the people closest to you, you can help the Trust’s experts to continue conserving, caring and sharing the places you treasure most for many years to come.
