Martin Cameron pleaded guilty at the High Court in Glasgow to causing the death of Shaun Allan by dangerous driving.

His friend Shaun Allan (26) died when Cameron lost control of his Ford Focus as the pair travelled to work along the rural B851 towards Farr in May last year.

As Cameron (25) waits to be sentenced later this month, Jaye Allan, of Hilton, Inverness, said it was right that he admitted his crime.

“The evidence concluded he was guilty,” she said.

“As regards sentencing, it is up to the judge to decide.

“It is not going to bring Shaun back.

“It is not going to fill the void we feel.

“I don’t have my brother because of the situation.

“His daughter doesn’t have a dad. My mum and dad don’t have their son any more."
