A popular Inverness bakery chain is set to create 12 jobs in Moray when it opens a new shop this summer.

Harry Gow will open a new outlet within Asda Elgin – its second in the town and first ever with the retail giant – in the coming weeks.

The family bakery is currently recruiting team members for a variety of retail roles, from management and supervisory roles to full-time, part-time and weekend counter assistant positions.

A full list of positions available in Asda Elgin – and in Harry Gow shops across the Highlands and Moray – can be found at the Harry Gow website.

Director Jane McIntosh said: “We’re excited to be moving closer to opening our new shop in Elgin, and we’re on the lookout for baking fans who would thrive in a busy, inclusive working environment.

“If you love chatting to customers, then we want to hear from you. Our communities are so important to us, and building those relationships is key to what we offer at Harry Gow, alongside our award-winning bakes.

“Of course, getting to sample – in our opinion – the best bakes in the country is the icing on the cake if you’ll excuse the pun.

“Harry Gow truly is a family business. Every member of our team is a part of our extended family, and we’re looking forward to welcoming more into the fold in the coming weeks.”

Earlier this month, Harry Gow was crowned Scottish customers’ favourite retail craft bakery at the Scottish Baker of the Year Awards, where it also scooped the prize for the best individual cake in the country.

Harry Gow is a popular bakery with 17 shops spread across Inverness, the Highlands and Moray. It was crowned the first Scottish Baker of the Year in 2012, and to date is the only bakery to have scooped the top award twice – winning again in 2019.
