Highland Woodchip Co Ltd has reached completion on its new Green Energy Park in Grantown-on-Spey.

There are five units remaining, offering sustainable super-low energy costs for local SMEs helping the company to meet its environmental responsibilities as it works towards their net zero carbon objectives. All units at the Grantown site are EPC Rated ‘A’ for energy efficiency.

Located within the popular Achnagonalin Industrial Estate a mile east of the town centre, the Green Energy Park provides a range of energy efficient, low carbon business units.

Jim O’Brien, managing director of Highland Woodchip, said: “There is no other industrial estate in the Highlands – and perhaps Scotland – with EPC Ratings of ‘A’. We have created first-class facilities for local SMEs to thrive and are proud of these achievements.”

The development benefits from a low-cost and maintenance-free renewable energy biomass district heating network powered by two on-site biomass boilers providing heating with water to air space heaters fitted in all units.

Solar photovoltaic panels of 8kW per unit, generating clean electricity, are fitted to the rear roof pitches of the units, while electric vehicle charge points are also available at each unit.

Highland Woodchip has now instructed Shepherd Chartered Surveyors to market the remaining units available for let on flexible lease terms.

Linda Cameron, from the Inverness office of Shepherd Chartered Surveyors, said: “The green energy installations on offer will greatly assist occupiers reduce their carbon footprint and protect their businesses from rising energy costs.

“We have five remaining units suitable for various uses and each qualifies for 100 per cent rates relief.”

Individual units are available from 1076 sq ft at a rent from £10,000 per annum. Multiple units can be combined to suit larger floor space requirements.
