Archie Highland raised £10,000 from a golfing event at Nairn Golf Club.

The charity supports families with sick and injured children throughout the Highlands through a support centre, outreach clinics and equipment.

The money will go towards the emergency grant support scheme that helps get families to and from Raigmore Hospital, Inverness to support their child, and also to help children get to hospital in case of emergency.

Archie Highland chairwoman Mary Nimmo said: “Too many families are struggling financially in this pandemic environment – and an unexpected illness or injury to a child can mean their budget does not stretch sufficiently.

“The £10,000 raised from the golf day will go straight to this emergency support project, which benefits families from all over the Highlands and Moray.”

More than 140 people took part in the event. The tournament was won by the Munro and Noble solicitors and estate agents team.

Michael Rae, managing director of Highland Copiers, one of the event’s main sponsors, said: “We’re grateful to generous supporters of such a great local cause. Nairn Golf Club must also be thanked for all their assistance.”

World champion trick shot golfer Geoff Swain put on a display for the guests.
