Free online Gaelic singing lessons are being offered to school-aged pupils.

Sèisteil, offered by Comunn Gàidhealach Mhuile, hopes to encourage more young people into Gaelic singing during the lockdown.

A spokeswoman for Sèisteil, said: “We are delighted to offer the opportunity to all aged 5-18 access to free online Gaelic singing sessions.

“In these strange times, it is important to be able to socialise and interact with others and singing is great for the soul. It has been proven to reduce stress, improve health, increase confidence, boost the immune system and make you happy.”

The group sessions will be delivered through Zoom and will last approximately 30 minutes, covering traditional, contemporary and fun pieces.

Sessions will run for six weeks.
