Funeral details for Ardersier boy (5) who died after crash released

The funeral of the five-year-old boy who died after a crash near Inverness Airport will take place next Wednesday (March 22).

Details have been published this morning by William T. Fraser and Son, with the boy named as Theo Crampsey, from Ardersier.

The notice reads: "Loving son of Leann and Finbar, precious brother to Rhys and Aimee, dearly loved by all the family, local and Ireland.

"Mass will be held on Wednesday 22nd March at 12 noon in St Mary’s R.C. Church, Huntly Street; thereafter burial in Kilvean Cemetery.

"The family will be pleased for all to attend."

Theo sadly died after being transferred to the the Royal Hospital for Children in Glasgow in the wake of the crash which occurred on the B9039 at the junction with the Dalcross Industrial Estate on Monday, March 6.

A fundraiser launched to help his family in the wake of the tragedy began with an initial target of £4000 but as of this morning has received almost £18,000 in donations.

The Courier has also reported on public reaction in the aftermath of the crash, with many locals calling for action to improve safety at the junction.

Fundraiser organiser Mya Chemonges-Murzynowska said the public response to the appeal "extremely overwhelming".
