A GROUP of women in Inverness are celebrating their latest charitable success as they handed over a cheque to a children’s charity.

The Inverness League of Ladies were delighted to recently hand over a cheque for £12,865 to Children’s Hospices Across Scotland (CHAS).

They raised the funds through a tipsy tea party event at the Glen Mhor Hotel.

Chairwoman Amelia Morrison said: “We are thrilled to have raised such a great amount to help children with life-shortening conditions and their families through CHAS.

“We would like to thank everyone who contributed to our events such as our tipsy tea party in November.

“Thank you too to all the local businesses who kindly supported us and donated lots of brilliant prizes.”

CHAS community fundraiser Ruathy Donald said: “We are so grateful to the League of Ladies Inverness for this incredibly generous donation which will go a long way towards providing vital care for the children and families we support here in Inverness and across Scotland.”

CHAS works across the country to provide its hospice services.
