A fundraiser has been launched online for an Inverness family who lost all their possessions in a horror house fire.

Ashley Kerr and her 11-year-old daughter Aliza lost everything when their house in the Stratton area went up in flames on June 20.

Fire crews rushed to the scene on Drummossie Road just after 1pm.

No one was injured but two crews were on scene for nearly two hours extinguishing the blaze.

A man was later charged by police in connection with the blaze and was due to appear in court.

Lisa Stewart, who is organising the fundraiser, said: "I am fundraising for Ashley and Aliza her 11-year-old daughter after a tragic house fire yesterday at their home.

"Ashley and Aliza recently moved to a new home after the death of Aliza's dad they started a new life in Inverness.

"Yesterday a fire occurred in their home leaving them with nothing but the clothes they are standing in.

"I am pleading and begging for anyone to donate what they can no matter how little (I know times are hard) I know the girls would be so grateful & appreciate any help received.

"They are in shock and devastated at losing everything and their new home."
