Around 50 former Inverness High School pupils met up for a '70s-themed catch-up recently.

The event at the British Legion Club in the city also raised around £300 for cancer charity Maggie's Highland thanks to a raffle among the former pupils who started together at the city school in 1972.

Reunion organiser Margaret Macaulay said: "It was great to see everyone after such a long time. It has been 47 years since we started school but even after that length of time, I could still recognise everyone.

"Some of us have passed away during the years and they were remembered over the night."

The former school mates previously held a reunion in 1993 and tried to recreate a photograph from that event as faithfully as possible at the more recent get-together.

Ms Macaulay said: "We will all turn 60 next year and I believe this will be our last reunion."
