Inverness BID has secured funding to provide a period of free parking in Rose Street Car Park every Friday during December.

A spokesman said it is designed to "help encourage visitors to support our wonderful city centre businesses this festive season".

The statement shared on social media continued: "Parking up to four hours is completely free – please note if you park over four hours you will be charged at the usual rate for the time you have parked.

"The businesses look forward to welcoming customers and are so grateful for their support this Christmas.

"Thanks to support received from the Inverness Common Good Fund to enable us to bring this initiative forward."
