More than 40 years’ work in the field of architectural technology has been recognised by a leading industry body.
Colin McEwen, who works for NHS Highland, has been awarded the Fellow Membership of the Chartered Institute of Architectural Technologists for his significant contribution to and excellence in architectural technology.
He has worked in the field since 1979 and joined NHS Highland in 1987 where he was heavily involved in countless projects and works throughout the region.
His projects included the installation of the new helicopter landing site at Raigmore Hospital, fire improvement works, and the extensive work throughout the Covid-19 pandemic.
This included the creation of new testing sites, repurposing existing premises, and ensuring ‘business as usual’ construction projects were still able to proceed despite all the disruption and difficulties experienced during the pandemic.
He has also recently accepted an additional post as an invited visiting tutor on the University of the Highlands and Islands’ MSc Infection Protection and Control programme.
In a Facebook post, an NHS Highland spokesman congratulated Mr McEwen on his achievement.
