A MAJOR food and drink supplier’s biggest-ever trade showcase is expected to bring hundreds of north business owners and chefs flocking to Inverness.

The Kingsmills Hotel is set to host a special trade event organised by Williamson Foodservice tomorrow.

The Inverness-based food and drink wholesaler has attracted 65 of its key suppliers from all over the UK who will exhibit their goods, provide samples/tastings and explain how to get the best value and profit from their products.

And as many as 500 north business owners, chefs and others are expected to attend what is the company’s biggest trade event to date.

Managing director of Williamson Foodservice, Gary Williamson, said: “I am delighted so many of our suppliers have committed to the trade show in Inverness with many travelling from all over the country to be here.

“However, with provenance and sustainability as strong as ever in terms of importance for the end consumer, local and Scottish producers will also be well represented.

“We have worked with a significant number of new suppliers over the winter months and many of these are attending the show too. We have also organised two workshops as part of the event to help customers understand and profit from trends in the marketplace including vegan/vegetarian food and cocktails/mocktails.”
