Highland Council high earners revealed

Highland Council's chief executive takes home a salary that almost matches that of the Prime Minister, a freedom of information request has revealed.

Donna Manson pockets annual earnings of £160,909 according to work carried out by the Taxpayers 'Alliance.

In comparison Boris Johnson claimed an annual salary of £157,372 as of April 2020.

Technically the PM is entitled to claim £161,401 under the current parliamentary guidelines.

Executive chief officers for performance and governance and for communities and place at Highland Council both earned £95,599.

Three other executive chief officers overseeing other roles in the Highlands took home £93,932 each.

Taxpayers' Alliance compiled the data in their latest Town Hall Rich List 2022.
