Trophies for Florians drama team in the Scottish Community Drama Association one act play festival

A team from Inverness amateur dramatic company The Florians took home two trophies in the the Scottish Community Drama Association (SCDA) one act play festival held on Friday and Saturday at Nairn Communicty & Arts Centre
They won the MacLeod Trophy for coming second and the Mackenzie Shield for stage presentation.
The one act play the Florians performed was First Hand Farce written by a local playwright Dave Smith and directed by Geoff Burns.
The company's secretary Caroline Nicol, said: "We were awarded the MacLeod Trophy for second place (the Buccaneers came in first and Dingwall Players came in third).
"We also received the MacKenzie Shield for the highest mark for stage presentation. The set was designed and built by Allen Perrin who has designed and built several sets for the Florians including most recently the one for The Vicar Of Dibley."
Caroline laughed: "The adjudicator, Bruce Adam, said his only criticism was that he wanted the play to go on for longer!
"Now we will prepare ourselves for the Highland Division Festival back in Nairn later in March. We will be performing on Friday, March 25 at 7pm at the Nairn Community and Arts Centre.
The Buccaneers – who had performed Lockdown In Little Grimley by David Tristram – took the Douglas Hunter Rose Bowl for coming first, the Vera Hallett Trophy for acting and for production, the Jane Singleton Trophy.
Dingwall Players – who had performed On The Porch One Crisp Spring Morning by Alex Dremann – took third place and won the Alexander (Sandy) Glass Trophy, appropriate as the late Mr Glass, a former Dingwall Academy rector, had also been a lynchpin of Dingwall Players himself, and a secretary of the SCDA Highland division and festival organiser and chairman of the Moray Firth district.
Also taking part were Plockton ADS with Lockdown In Plockton by David Tristram and Nairn Drama Club performing The Letter by |Larry Collins.
The divisional final with adjudicator Russell Boyce is at Nairn Community & Arts Centre on March 25 and 26 from 7pm. Ticket details: nairncc.co.uk
