Firms vie for Highland business titles

Finalists for the annual Highland Business Awards have been revealed.

Organised by Inverness Chamber of Commerce, the awards are a much-anticipated occasion that recognise the breadth and diversity of business talent across the region.

A total of 91 nominations were received across the categories.

Stewart Nicol, chief executive of Inverness Chamber of Commerce, said: “I am absolutely delighted with the entries to this year’s Highland Business Awards.

“Every single category has a strong set of entries from a large number of businesses, in every sector, from across the Highlands and Islands.

“The quality of entries ensured that judging was an extremely difficult task and quite genuinely every business shortlisted can be justifiably satisfied with their outstanding achievement.

“I and the whole Inverness Chamber of Commerce team look forward to welcoming everyone to what will be an outstanding Highland Business Awards ceremony on September 30.”

The shortlist is as follows:

  • Innovation: Inverness Kart Raceway; ishga; Parklands Care Homes.
  • Resilience: Highland Farm Cottages and Highland Farm Café; Mowi Scotland; Sonas Hotel Collection.
  • Environmental sustainability: The Glen Mhor Hotel; M&H Carriers; North Point Distillery.
  • Global growth: Mowi Scotland; Orion Engineering Services; Whyte and Mackay (The Dalmore).
  • Digital initiative: Flying Scotsman Productions; ishga; sfG MentorNet.
  • Workforce upskilling: The Apprentice Store; Mowi Scotland; The Pier.
  • Employee wellbeing: Parklands Care Homes; The Pier; teclan.
  • Community engagement: Balfour Beatty; Cairngorm Group; Mowi Scotland; teclan.
  • Employer of the year: Cru Holdings; North Point Distillery; teclan.
  • Young employee of the year: William Landsborough (The Nevis Centre); Caitlin Maclean (teclan); Grace MacLeod (Ness Walk); Tilly Saunders (The Pier).
  • Business leader of the year: Anne Gracie Gunn (Sonas Hotel Collection); Chris O’Brien (Nevis Range); Ron Taylor (Parklands Care Homes).

Winners will be named at Drumossie Hotel in Inverness.
