An Inverness man who had driven on various streets in the Dores Road area was stopped by police on suspicion of drink-driving.

But when Andrew Cairns (48), of Bailey Place, was taken to Burnett Road Police Station for a breath test on February 23, he refused to give breath specimens.

He admitted the offence at Inverness Sheriff Court and was fined £245. He was also banned from driving for a year.
